I plan to use UV-3321 (Loctite Corp.) adhesive to attach a silicone tube on top a Foley catheter. The Foley catheter has an internal tube which has been cured using the same UV-3321 adhesive. This adhesive requires UV light for curing.
If I attach the extra tube on top of the catheter now using UV-3321, would the adhesion of internal tube be affected?
My choice of using this adhesive is bio compatibility & flexibility. Are there any other alternatives to this adhesive? Please help.
Second dose of UV light should not alter properties of adhesive in negative way.
Uv light doesn't generate such a heat to alter the adhesive character.
in case of materials cured by light, a photosensitizer materials are added which will be sensitive (absorbed) only by specific light wavelength, once the light absorbed the reaction will be initiated and the adhesive material get its hardness,,,,, no more light will be absorbed

Thank you for the informative answers. I feel confident to proceed with this information. To add, the adhesive has not been subjected to any heat previously. I don't intend to heat the material now either. So I guess it should be fine.

First off the bond will not be effected if the material is heated and thermal expansion will not effect the bond especially if 2 thermally inactive materials are involved unless or until the time of heating is long enough to be absorbed into the substrates or bonding materials and then the bond strength will need to be over come as a mechanical function. Simple body heat will not effect the bonds of resins/epoxies to catheter materials. There are several "biocompatible" resins/epoxies, but be careful that they meet or exceed medical biocompatibility for use inside the body and not outside the body and should have been tested under International Standard ISO-10993 and if used in the US should meet FDA standards at least at the 510K level.
