Conducting environmental impact research on cleantech floating solar systems for sustainable agriculture at vineyards and wineries, in particular water savings in terms of water preservation and evaporation reduction due to installation of over water floating solar systems on lakes, dams, irrigation ponds reservoirs, agricultural and mining ponds, hydroelectric reservoirs and canals.
Would really appreciate links to reports where evaporation rates had been monitored or measured, or forecasted with mathematical modelling or environmental monitoring models are used to model or predict water evaporation rates on irrigation ponds or rivers or water canals.

Still, evaporation impact from FPV covering water bodies is not answered.
Experimental evaluations by industry experts and researchers determined evaporation savings between 70% and 80%, depending on the site characteristics, humidity, water/atmosphere temperature differential, floatovoltaic design type, floating structure (country and region specific to a large degree).
Will check if info can be released in public domain and revert back.

Very interesting Ralph, for floating solar there would be gaps between the segmented floating arrays to prevent panel shadowing, while the panels themselves are installed at an angle leaving gaps for evaporation. One should just model these site and design specific factors into the swimming pool cover estomates.
