With scientific debates, many often avoid controversy or any degree of 'heated' discussion; yet, in the spirit of debating, isn't this exactly what one wants?

I would argue that one most certainly wants an antagonists, especially, a very skilled one, for then the topic under discussion may be fully explored.

An RG-Nemesis: defined to be some person who adamantly disagrees with your position or stance made in some discussion within ResearchGate. I think the potential for a Nemesis is not what is, generally speaking, to be feared; but, a poorly skilled one is certainly something to fear and shy away from.
