John Kirkland, my Masters supervisor at the time (1987-1988) took my research and wrote it up into a prelim article....published it before my thesis was published (Aug, 1988) without speaking with or asking me, and what's more presented it at an International Psychiatric conference of some sort in Hawaii in early 1988! I formulated the hypotheses, conducted all the research, wrote up the thesis (with his guidance as a supervisor of course but I also was supervised by Cheryl Woolley, from Psych Dept). I only discovered in 2016 (nearly 30 yrs later) I was completely ripped off! Words just do no justice to this betrayal. I am sure I am not the only student that went through this either. Cheryl had no idea of this until I told her in 2016. So you can imagine that these auto generated emails asking me if John Kirkland authored this article with me generate a visceral response!
