Is it important to consider native and non-native nature of the teacher?
The key criteria is the teaching portfolio, which depends on professional domain. I meat that the priority is the ability to teach and expertise in pedagogy. Speaking the language is not the same as teaching the language. For me, clear awareness how to teach the language is the key.

It is absolutely a valid argument. Numerous research claim that EFL / ESL teachers should be a speaking model for students. When it come to Non-native EFL / ESL teacher, not all of them, have acquired native-like speaking proficiency. Should recruiters still consider their proficiency in other skills and competencies despite speaking/pronunciation?
