Hi Aradhana. Brainstorming is a technique for rapidly generating ideas which can later be evaluated. The sole purpose of brainstorming is "idea generation" so it is important not to critique those ideas during the brainstorming process. The idea is, first you generate lots of ideas (and one new idea can trigger other new ideas to surface) and then later you evaluate those ideas to see which are worth pursuing.
