Covid -19 pandemic situation has created a lot of ruckus in teaching institution. specifically if we talk about medical teaching institution, the magnitude of impact is many fold because our curriculum is practical work based, which is not possible at present. Although medical teachers are trying their best to teach students using different online platforms available. Still practical work is missing. How can we stitch the gap? i m clueless
There is no solution as long as the practical work is based on the manipulation sometimes of living organisms which can transmit COVID-19. We must wait for the total disappear pandemic
The pandemic will pass and there will be practical laboratories in medicine. If the problem persists, virtual reality and telemedicine could be a solution.
Thus is a very good and practical question. I think all we have to do is to wait and observe how far the pandemic will last. If we observe that it is here to stay like HIV we adapt and move on with our normal lives with continuous physical distance, masks a d hand sensitisation as much as possible. Identify and treat sick ones. If we are lucky to get a safe effective treatment better I however did not see a hope of an effective vaccine because of mutations.

Undergraduate and postgraduate training disrupted due to outbreak of COVID19 pandemic and implementation of social distancing to prevent virus spread. Most of the institute now resumes all academic activities by using e-learning platforms. Recently AIIMS Rishikesh even conducted MD exam by inviting externals on video conferencing.
Indeed, virtual learning of practical skills and specializations such as medicine faces many challenges, but simulation can be used in these situations with education via video conference from within the laboratories themselves or the halls designated for that.
