As I was checking the results of my ASPEN plus simulation, Enthalpy in most of the cases was negative, just in the case of the one stream its positive? This difference is due to which Reasons?
Hello, it depends to the type of process the stream went through and to the type of stream (chemical and physical composition). ASPEN always refers his data to the standard thermodynamic state (298°K and 101325 Pa). If the process gave energy to the stream (like pressurization, heating, some chemical reaction), so the out-stream will have an enthalpy value higher than the in-strem. If the energy given to the stream is high enough, then the enthalpy of the out-stream will be eventually positive.
