What are some possible pre treatment protocols of carbon felt which is being used as a working electrode in a three electrode bio-electrochemical setup?

Also are there any specific points to look for if a carbon felt is not giving proper cyclic voltammetry peaks where as a glassy carbon electrode as working electrode is able to in the same set up?
