Dear All,
I am facing a problem that the nanoparticle sizes was getting reduced when a dopant ( transition metal ions) added on it.
Also the optical band gap also getting reduced when nanoparticles size was reduced.
Is this is possible ?.. When nanoparticle size reduced and band gap also reduced?.
Kindly clarify me.

Hi, the reduction of band gap with decreasing size is definitely counter intuitive. The reduction in the band gap possibly because of the TM dopant. Is it happening for any dopant you add, or for some particular one? Does the percentage of any particular dopant show any kind of trend with the bandgap?
Yes sir I tried with Cobalt dopant, in the CdSe NPs..
it shows the decrease in optical band gap. Thank you sir for the answer..
