I have modelled a 4 storey nonlinear building in Etabs first, beams were modelled by plastic hinges and columns using the fiber modeling approach at the ends. Due to convergence issues in ETabs, i am shifted to perform 3d software now. I have imported the structure in Perform 3d now. Plastic hinges were manually defined in Etabs, therefore, these beam hinges are correctly imported in perform 3d and are assigned to those beams already but this is not case for fiber hinges. So i have made manual fibers of columns and assigned them manually in perform 3d. Masses to each node was taken from etabs by Perform. Slaving was done. After introducing gravity load analysis, i ran the modal analysis and check that my time period is not in suitable range. What modifications need to be done to correct my model?
