I am designing a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna in which i used a microstrip line method of feeding and a stub at the centre of the dra as aperture but is given me some information saying poor convergence and my S11 and vswr are not good so i need a help please on how to do that if any?
There is plenty in the literature about this. You should not have to search any further than some IEEE papers.
I can give you some general guidance that will help with this and many other things. First, visualize the vector fields resonating in your dielectric antenna. Second, visualize the near-field around your aperture and microstrip. There are two basic things to keep in mind for the feed. First, you typically want to feed the antenna very close to where the resonating mode in the antenna has a maximum. This tells you the location to place the feed. Second, you want to design and orient your feed so that the feed's near-field matches the near-field of the antenna as closely as possible. The more similar the near-fields are, the better the feed will drive the antenna.
the aperture slot used for excitation is equivalent to a horizontal magnetic dipole it should be placed at the position of max magnetic field intensity .... for exemple to excite HEM mode in cylindrical resonator u must place this slot at the center of the cylinder.
