I'm running a multiple group CFA with one 2nd order factor (codependence) and three 1st order factors (subscales), each with 3 observed indicators.
My goal is to test for latent mean differences across both the first and second order factors, thus, I have establish whether the scale is invariant across samples.
Can anyone provide med with examples/syntax (preferably as referred to/used in articles) of invariance testing of second order factors?
I use Mplus.

I'm not sure which statistical software you are using. In my opinion, for this kind of analysis, the most indicated would be MPLUS. On their website, you can find the user guide in which there are many examples of syntax that you can use it.

I've been trying to construct a syntax to test configural, metric and scalar invariance for 2nd-order CFA model (with ordinal data, so WLSMV estimator), and I'm having a really hard time...
I can't find any example of that type of syntax anywhere...
