What is the most reliable and accurate procedure to calculate the volume fraction (in %) of secondary phases induced in a material due to external conditions like welding, aging etc.
In my study, I usually take more than 20 SEM or TEM images of the microstructure. Then we can calculate the the volume fraction (in %) of secondary phases using image processing software.

Can EBSD technique do the job as mentioned in the question where different phases can be selectively colored? Thank u.
