I need to know about the most recent gross phylogeny of Ascomycota, to quickly show the phylogenetic reconstruction of classes and orders. Does anyone have any advise? which papers to cite?
Schoch et al. 2009 The Ascomycota Tree of Life: A Phylum-wide Phylogeny Clarifies the Origin and Evolution of Fundamental Reproductive and Ecological Traits (Systematic Biology)
or the more recent one
Beimforde et al. 2014 Estimating the Phanerozoic history of the Ascomycota lineages: Combining fossil and molecular data (MPE)
I can add another paper by Schoch et al. 2009 (Article Geoglossomycetes cl. nov., Geoglossales ord. nov. and taxa a...
) and the corresponding chapters from The Mycota series, The Mycota VII. Part B. Systematics and Evolution, 2nd ed (2015), edited by DJ McLaughlin and J Spatafora. By the way, ascomycotean high-level phylogeny did not undergo much drastic changes since 2009 apart of those in Sordariomycetes (the most recent on those is Maharachchikumbura et al.. 2015 Towards a natural classification and backbone tree for Sordariomycetes.
