Where can I find a paper or any reference on how to carry out the optical simulation using transfer matrix method in detail? I can't seem to find anything useful. Thanks.

The transfer function model is based on that every layer has its transfer ratio Ti. In addition the out power of the preceding layer is the input power of the following layer. You can yourself set the equations of this model.
In the paper at the given link you find a similar problem which is the optical analysis of a multilayer structure solar module.
