I am looking to run a 2x5 Mixed ANOVA to examine Sensory Processing Sensitivity in Highly Sensitive People (HSP) and Non_HSP. My Between-Subjects factor is HSP and Non-HSP. All participants tested five categories: Positive, Negative, Neutral, Animal Rights and Human Rights.
Normality tests yielded non-normal results for the HSP-Negative and HSP-Positive groups, after the removal of outliers.
I ran Log transformations on the Negative and Positive variables but to no avail. Square root transformations on the Neg. and Pos. variables yielded normal results for the HSP-Negative groups. However, it still left me with a sig-value=.00. My sample is small enough so I'd rather not remove any more outliers if possible.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with my next step? Is there any way I can try and 'normalise' the data or should I use a different test?
