I am working on the theoretical analysis of the Minimum operation load of the Solar Tower Power Plant. Right now, I think there could three factors that determine the minimum load.

  • The minimum mass flow rate in the solar receiver. The limit should be the corresponding mass flow rate which ensures the receiver tube temperature is NOT higher than the allowable temperature of the used tube material.
  • The minimum mass flow rate in the steam generator system. The limit should be the corresponding mass flow rate which ensures there is no hydrodynamic instability in the evaporator.
  • The minim mass flow rate into the turbine which could avoid there is no overheating issue in the turbine stage.
  • But actually I didn't find any research papers that analyze the minimum operation load of Solar Tower Power Plant or any factors listed above. Could anyone provide me the related research on this topic kindly?
