We observed a SAED pattern that shows a strange symmetry. The weaker reflections are not located centrosymmetric, but do not show the outstanding five-fold symmetry. According to EDX the composition is Zr44Ti26Ni30 that sounds reasonable for a quasicrystal. However the sample was quenched from 1000°C to RT within 5 min. We made sure that the diffraction pattern was generated from a single crystal without any overlap of adjacent grains.
