The identification of leadership traits has not been able to come up with a set of "universal" traits for successful and effective leaders. Might we look at the social identities (race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) that leaders bring to their exercise of leadership. Might then leader identity be more useful in understanding who leaders are and what they bring to be effective and successful leaders?
