Hi every one I am working on GBS data , I have 123597 imputed markers and 184 genotypes, I want to run structure software on this data. For that purpose i need to transpose this data file but excel sheet have only 16000 column in one sheet. I am unable to transpose this data and run structure analysis, can anyone guide me to solve this issue ?????
Hi, Excel sheets have limited rows and columns that cannot be increased. If you insist on using Excel, you can enter the data in rows instead of columns. Because the number of rows is 1044856. Or record the information in several sheets.

It is ideal to have separate Excel datasheets with the Serial Number (SN) in the first row. For example, in the first sheet SN goes up to 1-10000, and 2nd datasheet SN goes up to 10001-20000, and so on. Remember that this SN is a common field. Now, you can transform every Excel sheet data rows into column. After transformation, all the Excel sheets will have a column SN that goes like 1-10000, 10001-20000, and so on. The transformed Excel Sheets data can be exported into the MS Access and the MS Access has the options to merge all different Excel sheet data into a single sheet using the common keys like SN and others.
Here is a sample Excel workbook attached. You can find that there are three broken sets of data in Sheet1, Sheet2 and Sheet3. These data have been transposed and placed in the new sheets: Trans_Sheet1, Trans_Sheet2 and Trans_Sheet3. The data in these Excel Worksheets have been exported into a single database (see the MS Access file attached).
Note that Access has no limitation to upload the data and this is so convenient to handle a large number of data. These data can be transformed or saved into CSV format.
