We would like to explore biogeographical patterns, ecology and possible introductions of pathogens in ecosystems or host shifting.
Do you know about papers that use similar methods? use citations to explore biogeography or ecology.

El método utilizado en Badotti et al. 2018 quizá te sea útil a la hora de sistematizar la búsqueda, sobre todo en WoS. El tema de la publicación, eso sí, difiere un poco de tu objetivo de estudio. El uso de VOSviewer y PDFminer me parecieron interesantes.

I has attempted the use of SPSS to calculate dendrograms with ward distance and therefore obtain research lines. The data were from thesis of Peruvian Universities. This technique has been used in biogeography works to determine biogeographical regions in arid zones (i.e. Sarmiento). Interesting your study. Ten years ago was popular TWINSPAN for it. And I knew the use of software used in genetics to encounter similarity between biogeographical regions. The same principle could be applied to study citation from different regions of the world.
