) that confirms the value of Mendeley reader counts as an early scientific impact indicator. In fact, the correlation between reader counts and citations stabilizes in about 5 years.What will be of the reader counts in Mendeley without the profiles to show them? Do other platforms have similar parameters that one can read beside RG?
Note that RG read counts don't necessarily mean that users have saved the read research into their own reference databases for a future citation (as Mendeley reader counts show).
Andrea, read counts and citations provided a good yardstick for other researchers and institutions to recognise and, sometimes reward the good works of scholars. If this is to be retired by Mendeley, I do hope that they have a suitable replacement. If not, then scholars may turn to other research dissemination platforms and fora such as Google Scholar and RG. I look forward to a possible, balanced resolution of this issue, sooner rather than later.
There are many trusted academic platform, so do not worry...

For all who are following this question, I finally have the answer to it: It turns out that the readers' information is preserved by going on Mendeley website and searching for an exact paper (instead of the authors' profile). There is a "paper page" which shows how many readers have that paper in Mendeley. Enjoy! /Andrea
