Ramanathan R. all depends on what you are trying to automate. However you might have to find a great developer along with a medical informatics analyst if you want a specific requirement to meet. Skill of the developer is developing logic's into software but skill of the analyst is to question, interact and capture the precise requirement from the domain expert. That is why I think you might need both if you have a greater scope to cover. If it is a small project you might be able to guide the developer as well.
