Think about a painting, when you capture it's image in a data storage device e.g your mobile the information is stored in form of a dataset, numerical or some other form , this data can be further refined, compressed and transformed under suitable linear algebra based computational algorithms, for example SVD and wavelet based analysis methods, this form of data processing can lead to possible identification and discovery of hidden artefacts in the painting itself.
