It should shows the current trend and need of the particular technology or topic towards the society. The seminar should deliver the impact of the topic and technology
It may or may not have a direct contribution to our society but it can always have an indirect contribution to the society in academic, R&D, new opportunities, also may be helpful in getting a realistic idea of many research works relevant to needs of our society etc. Interaction of different researchers in different fields for development of subjects as well as problems and needs of society (apart form their daily routine research in limited area) may also be feasible.
Seminars and conferences organized for a good cause and sponsored by credible educational institutions play a key role in bringing the scholars of a given field together and have a central function in advancing the frontiers of science. However, there are unfortunately many such conventions which are organized for personal benefits of some money making circles regarded as mock conferences and seminars . Such fake simulations are only a waste of time and energy and avid scholars should be wary of the uncanny intentions of their holders.
It should be made compulsory for all the participants to stay the whole period of scientific discussions inside the conference room, otherwise this system is totally valueless.
Only experienced persons can understand the unwritten portion of my comment.
Dear Shibani Dash , I am to the sides of who supports the positive contribution of seminars/conferences towards societies and or development if designed, planned and managed properly.
I believe, these gatherings are contributory towards development either directly or indirectly. In these gathering, generally several people (eg. academics, students, NGO practitioners, knowledge brokers/trainers, consultants, policy makers and research funders, etc) to discuss a particular topic and innovative ideas are thrown about and new information is exchanged among experts.
Hence the discussions and key outcomes of the event will contribute to the development. Moreover, the primary outputs of the meeting will enable to inform future research and development partnerships and activities that are contributory for development.
They bring together high end (sharpest) and often experiencedminds within an technical or academic field and allow them to train and interact with each other to to close all knowledge gaps that may exist in that field
thanks for your valuable answers....but all these will go in vain if it is not helpful for society....kindly give your remark how can it will be helpful to society?
Seminars help the society to a knowledge bondation it helps to achieve new results particular to that field and also give fullflesh knowledge about that subject to society.
