How can one effectively use remote sensed based techniques for estimating blue carbon stored in mangroves and/or sea grass? What is the latest in this research area??
I am aware of several investigations that use predictive models with NDVI, ombrófil indices and canopy height for estimations of aerial biomass in mangroves. Usually use Landsat Modis and Lidar images, the latter has a sensor Geoscience Laser Altimeter System -GLAS- e This sensor obtained height-of-vegetation information for the whole world in granules of approximately 60 m. Thanks so much for your answer, really your question was very valuable for me because it added new information I didn't know before.
I also looked for this meaning and found this book for Dr Mitra and Dr Sofia "Blue Carbon Reservoir of the Blue Planet" you can find and download it at springer
