What do you think what is the difference between Mandatory Overtime and slavery? and where is the line? Should it be allowed on the legislative basis that in some scenario employers would have a right to have mandatory not paid overtime requests > that employee can not refuse?
We need to understand if it is an expectation or hard coded policy.
If it is an expectation then it must be clearly mentioned and populated to all employees who are expected to do overtime.
If business policy does not have any micro components effected by modifying work time policy in between then policy must be modified / documented and add transparency to it.
Now this question is touching humanity and how one employee as a resource is valued. It depends on an organizational culture.

I think it is a naive approach to create a hostile environment for employee and force them to do something violating standards.
We are living 2021, slavery does not exist, if it does then that part of world is isolated from modern values that came along with technological revolution or digital transformation.
