Hello everyone, I got a MT curve (magnetization vs temperature) (Temperature range: 5K to 300K and 5000 Oe magnetic field) of NiMnSn alloy synthesized by arc melting. What does it indicates? Kindly explain in detail what is happening here? Curve is enclosed below.
-Before answer to your question, you must precise if your sample is fully crystalline structure or it consists of a distribution of nanoparticles?.
-Heusler compounds are magnetic intermetallics with face-centered cubic crystal structure and a composition of XYZ (half-Heuslers) or X2YZ (full-Heuslers), where X and Y are transition metals and Z is in the p-block.
T-he non stoichiometric alloys may have the composition Ni1-(x+y)MnxSny.
Their magnetism results from a double-exchange mechanism between neighboring magnetic elements (Ni and Mn).
-Mn spin moments are usually of about 3.5 μ B /atom (high-spin), 1–2μB/atom (low-spin), and 0 μB(quenched) exist. Mn interacts antiferromagnetically
-Ni spin can be 1 μ B /atom or 0.5 μ B /atom. Ni atoms give rise to ferromagnetic interactions
-In the present alloy, there may be a competition between ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic exchange interactions giving rise to spin-glass behavior.
This is reflected on the MT curves : the ZFC curves shows a broad maximum about 60-65K, while the FC curve (blue) exhibits an hysteresis due the the frozen spins under 5000 Oe.
Could you do AC susceptibility manipulations?

Could you do AC susceptibility manipulations?
Yes nice explanation from Prof. Mohamed El Hafidi. If possible to do AC susceptibility measurements then u can exactly find whether spin glass or superpara magnetism present in your sample.
