Looking for a supplier that has 25 micron max particle size as an available option. Found one, but they won't even sell us a sample because they don't think it will work for us. Crazy! All I see in my Googling is 45 micron. Any leads from you fine people?

Thanks for the spelling correction. Sometimes something as simple as that impacts the entire question...
Problem with magnetite is that the long range magnetic forces will always overcome any attempts at separating the particles by charge effects ('electrostatic' stabilization). In suspension only steric stabilization can work and the difficulty of keeping the material in suspension is compounded by the high density.
