We have successfully obtained hybridomas from guinea pig spleen cell fused with SP2/0 cell 2 times already. This was for practice only before our real assay. This week, which was for real with an immunized guinea pig, (~1 yr after our last assay) it did not work. No hybridomas were obtained.

Did anyone get that problem with any species? Does anyone know how long polyethylene glycol can be kept? (we use the same batch since ~8 years). Has anyone successfully used guinea pigs for mAbs and could help us?
