In response to my question on preparedness to combat the novel corona virus (nCoV) threat, Ligen Yu replied Luigi Cornaro diet may help to reduce the symptoms of the infection and make it mild. Are you in favor of his opinion?
Thank you for starting a discussion on the Luigi Cornaro diet. The diet is targeting the metabolic syndromes, not directly to the SARS-COV-2 virus. By eliminating the latent or symbolic metabolic syndromes, The diet may prevent the COVID-19 from developing into a severe one. But the diet is not able to stop the SARS-COV-2 virus infection.
The Luigi cornaro diet a special diet for the patients with metabolic syndromes, and is not for healthy people. Healthy people are not able to follow the diet, as they don't have enough nutrition supply from the microbiome inside their body. Also healthy people is more safe than people with metabolic syndromes in facing SARS-CoV-2 viral infection, they only need to follow their body's natural reaction to the infection, and reduce food intake during the infection. But for people with metabolic syndromes, they need to follow the Luigi Cornaro diet before, during and after the viral infection to prevent the recurrence of the metabolic syndromes. Ultimately, metabolic syndromes are the side effect of our immune system's fighting to the infections:
