My PhD research is focused on the experiences of minority faith and non-religious students in Roman Catholic Post Primary schools in Ireland. My research as found a link between belief and identity development. I would value exploring other research in this area.
Do to the scientific & technological development the world has become smaller which have given an opportunity for the human being to join with culture,habits,traditional beliefs, & other track of activities .
With this every adolescent their earlier environment of the family , culture ,behavior approach ,thinking of the traditional beliefs play an very important part . This environmental of the earlier period & with the subsequent progressive line of action may change the belief of religion & non religion .
It is in this line adolescent take the recourse of their belief of either Religion or Non religion path of their action & behavior ..

The question of who I am (identity of self) cannot adequately be answered without simultaneously answering a whole (rationally) interrelated series of questions about the nature of the universe in general, such that reason governs the process (even if it does not drive it).

I researched in East Germany (which is the most nonreligious area in the world) among youths who were religiously unaffiliated or affiliated (3 years ago). I focused on how they construct their identity via religious and non-religious rituals in a qualitative and a quantitative study among more than 400 adolescents. Interestingly, there no effect whether these youths are affiliated or unaffiliated on the relation between rituals and personal identity formation. I found an intriguing link between the active development and construction of social identity in children as a way to preserve a specific religious and moral framework in early modern England. Family religion, and other forms of reformed Protestantism, worked to indoctrinate children into a deeply perusal faith meant to indetify who they were and how the behaved in society.
The hard link comes through the celebration of children who assume positions of holiness in extreme youth. They are examples and templates, written about, and held up to other children. There are many examples of family diaries that place an extreme amount of importance on the religious education of children; teaching them to read and understand scripture, private and public prayer, and piety above all else. My argument is this is meant to define the child's identity internally and externally to uphold the perceived religious gains made in the mid-seventeenth century.
I am currently researching links between Protestant evangelicalism and the formation of American indentity in the early nineteenth century. It is a fascinating subject.
