Julia,

One of the good options is to use allelopathic crop varieties to control weeds non-chemically. Many crop varieties have property to exudate chemical from roots (mainly) which suppress the growth of weeds in the proximity of the crops. So, you can see some papers on "Allelopathic potential of vegetable crops". Thanks
