Xerostomia or dry mouth is a condition that happens when salivary glands don't produce enough saliva. It causes a parched, or dry feeling in mouth.
It can be a side effect of medical conditions or various diseases including Sjögren's syndrome, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, anemia, cystic fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and mumps.
