Why are the eddy currents not introduced in the metallic plates kept in front of light waves when they are electromagnetic waves and thus comprise changing magnetic fields?
Of course eddy currents are generated and are responsible for absorbing the light often in a fraction of a wavelength. The matter is treated clearly in the chapter OPTICS OF METALS of the textbook Principles of Optics by Max Born & Emil Wolf (Pergamon Press).
