My doubt: Or must I use the narrative methods or life history as mandatory?

Yes, I think this would be a good way to do a life course study.
I myself don't see that much difference between semi-structured versus life history interviewing, because you could use a "time line" approach to the sen-structured interviews.

I think the method of semi-structured interview allows you to be flexible, to incorporate the biographical reconstruction of trajectories and recover more qualitative aspects , typical of narrative methods.
I worked with the life course perspective to analyze labor and biographical trajectories.
