I am using 'iopart' document class for IOP Journal. I am unable to place 2 figure side by side. In figure caption, the 1st figure shows figure 2. Whereas in the text it appears as figure 1(a) and 1(b). Also, \usepackage{subcaption} is not working properly.
Don't know about iopart. A simple solution might be to put your figs in a tabular environment with 2 cols and 1 row.
