Hi All,

I knew that for most composite, small strain theory is enough for the consitutive model for the ply (mesoscale damage model) because normally composite experience strain less than 5% for tension and compression.

However, for simulation of [+-45]s laminates, usually the composite can achieve up to more than 20% strain, which is not in the small strain region anymore..

How do we justify the use of classical damage model for this? like Ladeveze or Hashin model??

Best,

Ditho
