I I believe that the inscriptions contained in the ISO can be a basic service to help design your knowledge management system. However, be sure to take organizational behavior into account when modeling your system.

Yes indeed it is. everything is how we want them and ICT related systems work and help us to innovate, initiate and enjoy what we already have. Information Management Systems are great tools to enjoy what we do and do better dissemination.

I have just submitted an article to a WoS-ranked journal's special ISO 30401:2018 issue but publication - if accepted - is only scheduled at end of the year. Here is part of my abstract and conclusion:

Abstract: "The integration of knowledge management (KM) and KM systems (KMS) within the ISO 9001:2015 and 30401:2018 standards, adds further legitimacy to KMS research, design, and applications. By allowing to prioritize one’s KMS approach of choice, the standards are meant to offer a common language to present an organization’s KMS comprehensively and consistently for auditing and accreditation but foremost for effectively informing and involving their stakeholders. This article tests these abilities by applying the criteria to a novel decentralized KM concept and system-under-development (portrayed as a Sustainability Vision in (Schmitt, 2021) see link below). By focusing on personalization, mobility, generativity, and entropy reduction, this novel concept differs considerably from conventional KMS wisdom, and, thus, these deviations and their motivations are presented as a case to put the ISO 30401:2018 standard’s criteria to the test. As a first case study of this kind, the positive outcomes may assist KMs developers and KM practitioners as well as researchers in realizing their own projects."

Conclusion: "Failures of KM systems and projects are largely blamed on an overemphasis of IT and a knowledge-as-a-resource approach (Schmitt, 2017 - see link below). The ISO 30401:2018 advances a more process-oriented KM focus balancing technological with human skill-and trust-related aspects, content-centric with collaborative needs, and systematic with systemic thinking in order to be better prepared in today’s environment of diverse and changing contexts."

"A recent empirical study focused on the under-researched interaction between KM processes and organizational sustainability in non-certified and ISO 9001 certified firms. The latter performed significantly better in generating and utilizing knowledge and fostering organizational sustainability. Although knowledge storing was identified as a good mediator between generating and sharing/utilization, certification did not show significant improvements pointing to persisting organizational impediments and the need to improve QMS-standards in this respect (Demir et al., 2021). With the subsequent introduction of ISO 30401:2018-KMS, this missing link between QMSs and KMSs has now been firmly established and further characterized."

Effective knowledge management may lead to changes in organizational culture but ISO 30401:2018 conceded that a knowledge management culture is essential for sustained application of knowledge management. On the word of ISO 30401:2018, the main factors that affect the desired behaviors and attitudes composing a knowledge management culture include (not less than):

• Leadership behavior and attitudes
• Trust
• Engagement
• Diversity
• Customs and norms
• Policies and procedures
• Training and competence levels
• Incentives
• Physical and digital environment
• Technology
• Organizational structure

To the list, ISO 30401:2018 might have added what Mintzberg termed "organizational configuration", viz., entrepreneurial, machine, diversified, professional, innovative, missionary, and political. (These days, one would add network forms of organizing.)
