The gamification is growing at a general level and this is thanks to the fact that since science has begun to value their contribution during learning.

In the ULL (Tenerife-Spain) as part of my doctoral research has been performed some practices of gamification with the platform of gestural interaction Tango: H, in my case I have worked with children with Down syndrome and the results have been very Satisfactory. This platform is being implemented as part of a didactic aid project in the Hospitals Classrooms of the Canary Islands and some municipalities of the peninsula.

Don't know if this counts as gamification - but have you heard of an online quiz-making tool called Kahoot? Kids absolutely love it, and it may be because of the gamification aspects - eg leaderboards, point scoring, the opportunity to select a player name, etc. This tool has become popular in the UK as a starter or plenary task. https://getkahoot.com/

 I had the honor of taking a course with Dr. Ryan Straight a year ago and will begin another Learning Theory course with him this summer. 

He is an amazing resource for gamification of learning. I created 3 short educational games in his course and also critiqued many others as a learning opportunity. 

We explored Calois,  Huizinga, Van Eck, Charsky, and many others in a weekly serious game review.
