I had received a request for peer review a paper from the Journal of Pharmaceutical Research International but I have some concerns about its legitimacy.
Anyone with experience peer-reviewing papers from this journal?
Recently, I'm trying to publish some clinical results that I got a few years ago. I checked several serious magazines. Publisher SPRINGER NATURE, with 2,132 journals, is charging a minimum of 2,000 USD to publish an article.
For example:
Zeitschrift für Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft costs 2,380 (Euros) 2,890 (US dollar)
Zentralblatt für Arbeitsmedizin, Arbeitsschutz und Ergonomie 2,490 (Euros) 2,990 (US dollar)
Acoustics Australia 2,690 (Euros) 3,390 (US dollar)
And they are high impact journals. If you're going to call the JOURNAL OF PHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH INTERNATIONAL a PREDATORY JOURNAL, you have to think long and hard. Most journals I've tried to publish are charging authors absurd amounts. And all with a high impact rate. Even Brazilian journals are charging high prices.
Yours sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Ricardo de Souza Pereira, Pharm.D., Ph.D.
All the titles you mentioned are so-called hybrid journals. In other words, they are free of costs as subscription based paper, and they will only charge you an APC if you choose for open access. FYI if you prefer open access then have a look at: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Scientific_Journals_with_Open_Access_and_no_APC_free_charges_for_authors here you find indexed journals that charge no fee. As said (most of) the subscription-based journal are free of costs for the authors.
Unfortunately, this journal is not indexed in PubMed, see also https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog?term=%22J+Pharm+Res+Int%22%5BTitle+Abbreviation%5D The thing is that certain (NIH) funded authors are allowed to upload there manuscript in PubMed. This is irrespective of the journal.
So, the fact that they have (a few) papers in PubMed does not means that the journal itself is a PubMed indexed journal.
Best regards.
PS. And no impact factor since it has never been indexed in SCIE.
