I have been researching for months now and have looked deep into image processing but I'm think that the way to change a shape or an image in Java Programming language is more of an Animation now. I need to create pixel points that lie over facial features of an image and then be able to change these features by relocation of the pixels. Morphing/Animation. Any tips here or links that could be useful for my research on this subject appreciated.
I suggest using OpenCV. It is also available as a library for Java. It is the most commonly used library for immage manipulation.
The library is capable of much more then what you are trying to do. If all you need is pixel reallocation you can easily do that with plain Java.
An image is nothing but a matrix of pixels. Load the image into an BufferedImage object and access the pixels using the method getPixelData.
Thanks Aleksandar, yes this is on my mind a lot. I looked at OpenCV but not in depth and thought this was more image processing again like the Marvin project I looked at, but will look at this again in more depth now.
And yes, when I was doing my Foundation Degree we drew objects using pixel points. I think my mind is starting to think the right way but all words of advice and information helps me think much more. Thankyou for this.
For your particular implementation, I would suggest that you try BoofCV library.

It is somewhat similar to OpenCV, but there are some features, other than working directly with pixels that might help you speed up the development of the application you have described.
