I don't know if these two names fit the rule of "Dinoflagellates species naming method".Anyone has the knowledge on these field? Or can give some advice and comments?
Proposed new species names should not be used in any published form until formally described and published - they might now fall into the 'nomen nudum' category.
As far as I see, Prorocentrum is a neuter noun. So, the epithet has to be formed in accordance with that gender. Therefore the correct form should be Prorocentrum koreanum.
I second Franz. When describing a novel species, one can name it after a person's name, locality, as well as based on distinct morphological character.
The species name that you proposed can be accepted taxonomically once it is published.
yes, franaz is right...second name must be same to the investigator (author name).....and you need to approve it through international code for nomenclature....
