In recent days, we have been performing this type of forensic studies to verify the credibility of the statement of persons indicted for committing a crime; therefore derived from the characteristics and situations in which they find these people to be subject to a process of investigation or juducial accusation, and having other evidence, is that we wonder if valid from an ethical point of view, moral theoretical and methodological, conducting such studies credibility of testimony in persons indicted?

that's a really good question. I would say yes, should be possible to use the forensic techniques to asses witness credibility of persons charged with a crime, but under the strict criminal procedure requirements. As persons accused of a crime have right to withhold the truth, be quiet during the whole proceeding or even to lie not to jeopardize their position of defendants, I would say this possibility shall be restricted only to situations when defendants provide a valid consent to the Court and when being necessary to prove they are innocent. In no case I would support imposition of such an assessments, because it is a job of the judge or jury to determine how much they would believe to the defendants and forensic sciences should not direct them in that way. They must all be non-biased in terms of determining mens rea of each defendant. But, if the defendant wants to support his/her defense strategy by the forensic evidence, why not?
