Hi all,

when something is pyrogen-free we can not consider it sterile. Am I right?

I am asking about a filter ( pore size 0.22) . It is mentioned in its certificate that the filter is depyrogen but not sterile.

As far as I know, Sterilization itself causes pyrogens .

So , I have three questions :

1- isn't the product from a 0.22 filter always sterile?

2- why is a filter depyrogen but not sterile?

3- How can we sterilize the depyrogen filter without making new pyrogens?

Many thanks,

Sara
