There are so many issues and problems faced by pharma representatives today in India and globally. There are mixed opinions in terms of physicians actually being respectful to pharma reps. Some blame the pharma companies (that they look for cheap labor, are profit motivated, they just need delivery boys). Some blame the 'government and its legislation' (it has loopholes, gives a license to anyone, bribery, etc). Some blame the reps (that they are not qualified enough or adequately equipped with the knowledge so that they could speak or explain properly to a well-qualified physicians). Some feel that they are wasting their time. It is just a 'blaming game' and fingers being pointed at each other.

In every country, there are issues and problems in terms of the medical representative profession. In India, when I was a medical rep in my early 20s, it was a well-respected profession. But the glamour factor is much lower these days. What is going on and how can it be meaningfully restored?

Please discuss issues with some examples so that the people can understand the overall aspect of the problem. Thank you all in advance.
