Hello Kaushik,

Any solvent that contains the element Carbon (C) is an organic solvent and that means water is an inorganic solvent.

I would rather say that water is not an organic compound. Being a polar solvent it can dissolve polar and ionic compounds both inorganic and organic. Also, having carbon as an element does not itself qualify a compound to be organic (ex carbon dioxide, carbonates and carbides are not organic) but an organic compound must have carbon as the 'central' or 'backbone' element.
