Retirement issues are becoming a major concern not only for individuals but also for companies and enterprises: private or government. Sudenly, in some cases, even an increase of costs associated to (failed) retirement are being noticed. Costs meaning not only the economic aspects but also family, social and legal issues. Some companies are asking for help to prepare for retirement their soon-to-be-retired personnel. But to my surprise an issue that emerge is the lack of planning and the exceess of hormones by retired men to look for "companion alternatives" as a route being chosen by many of their workers - in many companies in Mexico this creates legal and economic issues. So my feeling is that part of these issues emerge because there is a lack of involvement of spouses in planning the retirement of both or the retirement of the man in the house [Mexico, in the countryside, is still very conservative about the different roles of men and women. Men work and retire, women do the house work]. But mine is a feeling that both spouses should be involved. May you know of the effectiveness of involving spouses or other relatives in the very personal retirement process?
