my topic is privacy concerns on Social Media. I am measuring privacy concerns with three questions in SEM model with PLS. The three questions are:
1) Is your profile on your most used Social Media Site private or public? (public = not concerned, private = concerned)
2) On average, how often do you change your profile settings on your most used Social Media account (never = not concerned, other answers = concerned)
3) Did you read the websites privacy policy on your most used Social Media (no = not concerned, yes = concerned)
These three items measure privacy concerns. Now, I am struggelling to identfiy if this construct (privacy concerns) is formative or reflective. I am asuming it is formative. Would you agree?
Before answering your question on whether these three items should be formative or reflective, you should ask yourself if three questions are enough to measure the construct 'privacy concerns'. If anyone of these questions is removed, does that make 'privacy concerns' incomplete?
For your question 2, does changing profile settings affect 'privacy concerns'? Changing a profile pic qualifies this change in profile settings, but it may not affect 'privacy concerns'.
